The
petition
may be signed online here:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/verification-of-the-right-to-engage-in-naked-outdoor-activities.html
This petition is aimed at securing the explicit written confirmation of the
right to be naked in the outdoor environment, and to engage in healthy and
harmless sports and activities, without interference, obstruction,
discrimination or harrassment. Nudists are a minority group and are often
discriminated against on the basis of our beliefs.
This petition was submitted to the EEC in January 2006, with 361 signatures.
589 people from many countries signed it, as a sign of intent, although only
European countries were counted in the final submission (361 signatures). The
EEC Commission for Petitions rejected the petition in May 2006, with the
comment that they believed the subject fell outside of their remit and should
be dealt with at a local (country) level. Ah well, it was worth a try, and
this time we did not succeed. But, as someone once said: "Never give up - Never
surrender!"
